The current research aims to reveal the level of positive illusions and to identify differences in positive illusions according to the variables (gender, rank, and years of service) among Ministry of Interior employees in Erbil City Center.
To achieve the research objectives, the Taylor-Brown (1989) scale was used to measure positive illusions. The scale was then applied to the research sample after verifying its psychometric properties, including validity and reliability.
The research population includes Ministry of Interior employees in Erbil City Center for the year (2024-2025). The research sample consisted of (300) employees, randomly selected from both genders. The research reached the following results:
A high level of positive illusions was found among the research sample. There were statistically significant differences in positive illusions attributed to gender, in favor of females. There were also significant differences attributed to rank, in favor of males. There were no statistically significant differences attributed to years of service, in the level of positive illusions. Based on these results, the researchers presented a set of recommendations and proposals.
