Abstract:
In this study, the researcher seeks to shed light on one of the prominent scholars of the Arabic language in the 9th century AH. This scholar is regarded as one of the most important figures in grammar, inheritance law (farā’iḍ), mathematics, astronomy, and other sciences, particularly in the field of grammar. The study aims to highlight his approach and methodology in this discipline.
Given the great importance of heritage as an expression of a nation's identity, culture, spirit, and intellectual legacy—serving as a link between the past, present, and future—and as a vital means of understanding the reality, eras, and challenges of the nation, the preservation and revival of this heritage plays a profound role in the lives of Muslims. It brings us closer to its principles and foundations and guides us to its intended goals and aspirations. Through it, we renew our commitment.
Hence, it is essential for researchers to encourage scholars and students to contribute to the preservation of this heritage and to present it to the public in a form that is both acceptable and appreciated. Research encompasses various branches that cannot be approached with a single methodology. Therefore, in addressing such a topic, the researcher should not rely on more than one method. For this reason, the researcher adopted the historical method in this study to examine the era and the life of the scholar. It is worth noting that the historical method is based on describing and explaining the phenomena and problems of the study, and it assists in forecasting the future by collecting data and information according to the principles of this approach.
