This research aims to provide a clear and comprehensive picture of the city of Borsippa, based on accounts found in Islamic sources. It begins with its origins in ancient Babylon, tracing its subsequent decline and ruin due to historical events. Borsippa represents a significant historical turning point, containing important historical artifacts from later periods of ancient Babylonian civilization, particularly those related to the debate between the Prophet Abraham (peace be upon him) and the ruler of the time. From a Muslim perspective, Borsippa was an important city because it contained the shrine of the Prophet Abraham (peace be upon him). Various writings have shed light on it, starting with linguistic sources that explored the meaning of the name from both linguistic and terminological perspectives. Furthermore, geographical sources have contributed valuable information about Borsippa. While they describe its geographical location, they also provide indispensable historical data for recounting certain events related to the story of the powerful king who ruled the city. In addition, historical sources that describe the course of events reveal the deep historical roots of Borsippa, allowing us to understand its history. Regarding the true birthplace of the Prophet Ibrahim Al-Khalil (peace be upon him), especially the presence of Saad bin Abi Waqqas at the birthplace, this event is considered a qualitative leap in historical studies. It also highlighted the fact that the character of Nimrod (Nimrod) is one of the mysterious figures to this day, despite the many narratives and studies presented by researchers of various nationalities.
