Abstract

This research defines the concept of power in a scientific and systematic way, as it shows its types, and its exclusive source which is directly from Allah Almighty, as it shows the legitimate aspects of its expenditure as mentioned in the Book of Allah, and the role of power in shaping and building the personality of the Muslim individual, as possessing power is ultimately an Islamic duty, and the strength of the Muslim comes from the strength of his faith. The strong individual has distinctive characteristics and effects that appear through situations, and in contrast, there are characteristics of the weak individual that also appear through situations and practical conduct, and there is a narration of many positive and negative situations in the Holy Quran. Once a person possesses power, the scourge of tyranny and oppression creeps into his heart, making him a sinner outside the will of Allah Almighty in His creation, and this defect comes from the sensitivity of dealing with power, and the deception of the weak-minded by their power, and their arrogance with it to the point of imagining that their powers are of self-origin, and not a reflection of the power of Allah Almighty that He granted them. The permissible becomes forbidden, and the recommended becomes disliked, and all this is due to the difference in the sense of the element of power and the difference in the ways of spending it. There are many examples in the Holy Quran that show this state of tyranny, the tyrants and oppressors and their actions, and the divine punishment that befell them, whether through direct intervention from Him through supernatural powers, or indirectly through imposing balances between political and social entities.
