The period of Ahmed Kabbah's rule in Sierra Leone during the period 1996-2007 was one of the most important historical periods in the history of this African country, due to the many political, social and economic events that the country witnessed that affected the future of Sierra Leone, which prompted the researcher to determine the geographical location of the Republic of Sierra Leone, the social composition of its population, its economy and its political conditions. She then addressed the internal developments that Sierra Leone witnessed until 1990, and during 1991-2007, and the international role and international institutions in intervening and mediating to resolve the crisis that the country went through. The study then moved on to the 2002-2007 elections, concluding the study on the development process in Sierra Leone. One of the most important results of the study is that the role of political leadership and good governance were influential factors in achieving political developments in Sierra Leone during the era of Ahmed Kabbah, and strong leadership and clear political vision played a major role in restoring stability.

The study concluded that the armed conflict that Sierra Leone witnessed during the reign of Ahmed Kabbah had a significant impact on political developments in the country, and led to a state of instability and social and economic turmoil, which negatively affected the government's ability to implement political reforms and achieve development, and led to a deterioration in the security situation and the spread of crime and corruption, which affected citizens' confidence in the government and the system of government.
