Abstract

The current research deals with the diversity of ceramic shapes in the works of the Babylonian artists. The current research contains four chapters, the first chapter on the methodological framework of the research, which is represented by the research problem that emphasizes highlighting the diversity of ceramic shapes in the works of the Babylon potter and also includes the research objective which confirms the disclosure of The diversity of artistic forms among the potters of Babel Governorate. This study was limited to the ceramic shapes of the Babylonian potters, which were distinguished by their diversity and beauty.

The second chapter included the theoretical framework, previous studies and the most important indicators that resulted from the theoretical framework, where the first study dealt with the concept of formal diversity and the second topic dealt with contemporary ceramics in Babel Governorate. The results of the research, its conclusions, recommendations Which sheds light on the modern techniques used in contemporary ceramics, which have a great impact in the production of new artworks, thus achieving effective formal diversity and having a great role in the flourishing of the culture of the country, and the proposals that highlight the study of the diversity of shapes among the potters of the south and the study of the diversity of the ceramic shapes of the northern regions of Our beloved Iraq.

 The researcher reached a number of results, including.

  1. Babylon potters relied on diversity in size, color, mass, and texture to achieve formal diversity.
  2. The Babylonian potter moved away from classical and traditional forms, heading towards unfamiliar shapes to achieve the expressive and aesthetic dimension.
  3. Babylon potters differed in their artistic styles to achieve a variety of formality.

The researcher presented a set of conclusions, the most important of which are: -

  1. Babylon potters moved away from stagnation and monotony through the formal diversity achieved in their works.
  2. The abundance of production of Babylon potters, which was characterized by a variety of shapes.
