Abstract

The study concluded that prevention is represented in avoiding the occurrence of the disease resulting from drug abuse, and it also includes a set of activities that work to enhance the public health of the majority of the country's population, as preventing the spread of drug crime and the resulting toxins and diseases means reducing the rate of its appearance and resisting it in a way that ensures that it does not worsen and thus makes it difficult to limit and eliminate it. For this purpose, many drug abuse prevention policies appear, the first of which stems from the basic nucleus of forming society, which is the family, which is the main pillar of individual guidance, where continuous follow-up and permanent monitoring by parents, then followed by group guidance and religious guidance, the most prominent examples of which are awareness of the harms of drugs and warning of the consequences of this crime in all schools, mosques, public places, and student gatherings in universities and institutes, and finally spreading awareness of the penalties imposed on criminals who promote and trade in this toxic scourge, as the penalties extend to include users who are often victims of bad friends and the environment surrounding them.
