Imam Al-Sajjad lived in harsh conditions, as the Umayyad besiegement of the Imam limited the Imam’s activity in conveying the law of his grandfather, the Messenger of God. In his guidance to the nation, he chose a unique method by teaching Muslims a large number of supplications charged with various divine knowledge, which served as a beacon for achieving the desired goal of the Islamic religion, and contained what was necessary for the nation to do in terms of meeting and solidarity, preserving rights, and knowing the Creator of the universe and life. He even named his collection of supplications: Psalms of the Family of Muhammad, and the scholar Al-Isfahani praised this book in an essay in which he said: (It is the book that speaks of God and the storehouse of secrets and the unseen) Confessing sin and requesting repentance removes feelings of anxiety and remorse, enhances feelings of psychological comfort and improves psychological health He will not be unjust to you, and He is the Forgiving, the Merciful” (An-Nour: 31) “ And turn in repentance to your Lord and seek His forgiveness. Indeed, He is Forgiving and Merciful” (Al-Hajj: 31). Repentance reduces feelings of anxiety and depression, increases feelings of optimism and hope, and strengthens faith. (And do not despair of God’s mercy. Indeed, God forgives those who sin Let us all repent. Indeed, He is the Forgiving, the Merciful.” (Al-Zumar: 53) “Indeed, God loves those who repent and loves those who purify themselves” (Al-Baqarah: 222). Confessing sin and seeking repentance enhances the feeling of piety and fear of God Almighty. Do not follow the path that turns you away from My path, lest you disbelieve and become And among the polytheists” (Al-A’raf: 157), “And turn to God, and do not be of the polytheists.” (Al-Rum: 31) In addition to spiritual progress, repentance helps raise a person's spiritual level and bring him closer to God Almighty and a sense of piety. If they commit an immoral act or wrong themselves, remember God and ask forgiveness for their sins. Who forgives sins except Him? And they did not insist on what they did while they knew.” (Al Imran: 135) “So fear God and do not kill yourselves. Indeed, God is Most Merciful to His servants” (An-Nisa: 29) Confessing one’s sin and requesting repentance teaches honesty, sincerity, and courage in admitting one’s mistake and instilling values and morals. “And you follow good deeds, except for what you have brought of fasting, or feeding, or revealing a secret. Indeed, God is All-Hearing, All-Knowing” (Al-Baqarah: 227)References
