Beni Aidel region falls within the eastern tribes geographically southeast of the Soumam vally .as for civilization despite its rural isolation due to its occurrence among several mountain ranges it has played an important role from ancient to the present day. It was a link between the north and the south and a commercial crossing point between the east and the west especially in the Middle Ages.Its importance increased further in the modern and contemporary period thanks to the religious and political leaderships established after the fall of the Hafsid state which allowed it to play important roles that extended to the goal of the Algerian liberation revolution and after independence in the stage of national construction.Tamokra is considered a model for rural Bejaia in Beni Aidel region this lost country the forgotten jewel despite its great contributions in all fields especially religious cultural political and social . Through the efforts of its scholars or religious and social institutions we mention the founder of its religious institute Sheikh Yahia el-Aidli during the ninth century migration .The fifteenth century AD after which on of his grandchildren Sheikh Mohamed Tahar Ait Aldjet resurreced during the thirties of the twentieth century with the beginnings of the cultural and reformist renaissance in Algeria.It is sufficient that her angle only after its destruction in May 1956 fell to the field of honor from her elders and requested more than one hundred martyrs .she also presented to serve the country after independence and her Sheikh who has exceeded a century is still a supervisor of the corner and a contracting teacher in the mosques of Algiers despite his retirement and also followed his method .His students are like Sheikh Dr.Mohamed Cherif Gaher- my God have mercy on him – and Cheikh Abu Abd-al-Salam Oulefqi and others.
