Abstract

Abstract
This study aims to analyze the role of political elites in achieving political stability in Tunisia after 2011 by examining the performance and impact of four key actors who shaped the Tunisian political landscape during the transitional period and beyond. These actors include the Ennahda Movement as the most prominent Islamic political party, the military institution as the traditional guarantor of state unity, civil society which played a pivotal role in mediating and pressuring for political consensus, and President Kais Saied, who redefined the balance of power among the authorities after 2019. The significance of this study lies in highlighting the role of Tunisia’s political elite and assessing their contribution to the success or failure of the democratic process. The research relies on the descriptive analytical approach, through the study of political documents, official speeches and relevant academic reports. It also benefits from a field analysis of the positions of key actors and political changes after 2011 until the present time. This is complemented by a review of the literature and comparative studies to provide a comprehensive understanding of the role of political elites in stability and change. As for the research plan and structure, the research is divided into two sections: the first discusses the role of political elites in the stability of Tunisia after 2011, and the second reviews the future vision of their role in the upcoming political transformations.
