Abstract

This study examines and analyzes the distinctiveness of expression in the works of Kuraʿ al-Naml as reflected in Lisān al-ʿArab, considering him one of the prominent scholars in the field of regulating language and directing the meanings of lexical items. His views and transmitted reports constitute an important component of the material in Ibn Manẓūr’s Lisān al-ʿArab. The research aims to highlight Kuraʿ al-Naml’s linguistic style and his uniqueness in controlling lexical forms and meanings through a precise presentation and objective analysis of what is recorded in Lisān al-ʿArab.

The study includes an introduction and a preliminary section presenting a brief biographical account of Kuraʿ al-Naml, discussing his full name, lineage, and his most important works that contributed to enriching the Arabic lexicon. The research is then divided into two main sections: the first, entitled “His Distinctiveness in the Regulation and Semantic Orientation of Lexical Items,” and the second, “The Regulation of Meaning and the Rhetoric of the Lexeme.” The study concludes with a summary of the most significant findings.
