The effectiveness of the (SQ4R) strategy in achievement and developing dual thinking among students of the fourth stage, the scientific branch, in the Arabic language subject

The aim of the current research is to identify the effectiveness of the (SQ4R) strategy in the achievement and development of dual thinking among students of the fourth stage, the scientific branch, in the Arabic language subject.
The research relied on the experimental research approach, and the research sample amounted to (60) students who were distributed equally between the two research groups. There were (30) students in the experimental group that studied the subject using the (SQ4R) strategy, and (30) students in the control group that studied the subject in the traditional way.
The two research tools were the achievement test in the Arabic language subject, which consisted of (40) multiple-choice items. The double-thinking scale was prepared and consisted of (20) items against five alternatives for the degree of agreement. The validity and reliability of the research tools were verified.
The search resulted in the following results:
1- The positive impact of the (SQ4R) strategy as a teaching method in improving achievement in Arabic grammar compared to the usual method.
2- The size of the effect of the (SQ4R) strategy on the achievement of the Arabic grammar subject and the growth of double thinking for students in the fourth stage, the scientific branch, was large.
3- Teaching using the SQ4R strategy encourages positive participation and is an indicator to motivate them to learn, which leads to increased achievement and the development of double thinking.
In light of the research results reached, the research recommends the following:
- Employing a strategic strategy (SQ4R) in teaching the Arabic language in its various branches to develop dual thinking among students.
- Instructing the training departments affiliated with the general directorates to employ the (SQ4R) strategy in Arabic language and grammar lessons.
