Abstract

The study aimed to identify perceptions of a group of thinkers and philosophers, it expressed the agreed and disagreed viewpoints of them. These philosophers and thinkers have a clear vision about education, which they benefit from it to build plans and programs for adult education and continuous learning to reach a comprehensive vision in adult education philosophy. The study used the descriptive approach through reviewing the relevant study literature to benefit from it in the philosophy of adult education. It concluded that, the philosophy of adult education is based on a realistic perspective, as it is a future social democratic process and its science education is based on the education industry and engineering it according to what is available. Therefore, education is a life process. Every person has different forces related to their culture, beliefs, and ethics; we should be aware of it. There are also a number of philosophical foundations of the educational process related to the teacher, learner, curriculum and education. Including:

  • The teacher should be clever and he should plan for the future.
  • The learner is centered around education and has a changing nature.
  • The learner acquiring the correct educational skills.
  • The learner should be independent on his own.
  • The curriculum should be related to society, culture, and learners' experiences.
  • The education process is an art and industry that requires planning and renewal.
