The Grammatical Origination of the Quran Recitations in AlBaidhawi Interpretation of the Glorious Quran (died in 685 A.H.)

Abstract

The current study deals with the “The Grammatical Origination of the Quran Recitations in AlBaidhawi interpretation of the Glorious Quran (died in 685 A.H.) – a study of AlBaqara sura. The importance of the study emerges from discovering the origin of the grammatical regulation in terms of the originations and the syntactical interpretations of the various readings of the Glorious Quran that were included in the commentary book of the Quran entitled “Anwar AlTanzeel wa Asrar AlTaa’weel” which was written by AlBaidhawi with presenting the relevant grammatical opinions of the previous  grammarians and Quran interpreters and their books including AlKashaf book, from which he derived his material and made his best efforts, revised its critical phrases and opinions depending on a sober-minded scientific methodology.

The reason behind choosing this topic because AlBaidhawi interpretation book represents the comprehension of the grammatical thought of AlZamakhshari thought  (the author of AlKashaf interpretation of the Glorious Quran). In addition to that AlBaidhawi’s book involves other resources of thought and many scholars were keen on studying this book as it is well-known, commented on it and compared it to AlKashaf. The aim of this study is to demonstrate the profound and distinguished character of AlBaidhawi in terms of his vast knowledge in grammar and his great acquaintance with Quran various recitation types and originating these recitation in a way that is compatible in terms of fulfilling the meaning and the religious regulations stipulated by the Glorious Quran.

The researcher adopted the deduction and descriptive methodologies by selecting two examples for each section in which he presents the Quranic verse and then directs the type of recitation per AlBaidhawi’s opinion, the books of recitations, manifesting the evidence for each recitation, presenting the interpreters and grammarians’ opinions and also presenting the points of view of the scholars who agree or disagree with him. The research involved an introduction, two sections and a conclusion.
