The preference of the aspects of the Prophet’s speech between the singular, the dual, and the plural in the explanations of the hadith according to Ali Al-Qari (d. 1014 A.H)

Abstract

The research aims to shed light on part of the noble prophetic hadiths that Imam Ali Al-Qari covered in his explanations that were concerned with explaining the prophetic hadiths, and to identify the aspects of the prophetic miracle in those texts, while noting the prophetic choice in choosing words, and explaining the expressive reason behind preferring the single word. Or the dual, or the plural, and he mentioned the opinions of the commentators on the Prophet’s Hadith in explaining the expressive reason for preferring these words, and the accuracy of their aesthetics in the context of speech, while not dispensing with other vocabulary to explain the integrated semantic level of the Prophet’s Hadith.

His honorable speech varied and took into account the circumstances of those being addressed according to his environment, status, and prestige. Sometimes his speech touched the heartstrings, and sometimes he moved the depths of thought and reason. With this speech, he gave every person what he wanted. The Prophet - may God’s prayers and peace be upon him and his family - was keen to address Every people, or even every individual, is according to his situation, and his vocabulary should be appropriate to its meanings and purposes, so that his speech reaches a position in the hearts of the listeners, and so that the effect reaches the hearts of the hearts, so that what he wants to accept is accepted and what he wants to leave is left out.

The prophetic speech is a rich speech in that it brings together the tools of integrated speech, as it is of the rank in which no speech competes with it except the word of God Almighty. Because of the characteristics that qualified him to reach this lofty rank, his blessed hadith that he spoke was devoid of affectation and artifice, and God Almighty bestowed upon him acceptance and love, despite the fewness of his words and the abundance of their meaning and breadth. The commentators of the hadith recognized the inspiration of his word, and acted with the goodness that its apparent pronunciation evokes. Organized, and beautifully eloquent, by repeating the pronunciation and declaring it, and I will look at a group of prophetic texts cited by Imam Al-Qari, presenting the expressive reason for these texts in which the singular, dual, or plural was preferred. I will mention the text of the Prophet’s hadith with its extraction from the books of the Prophet’s Sunnah, considering the commentator’s opinion. According to the antiquity, taking into account the opinion of the commentator Ali Al-Qari, as he is concerned with research and study.
