Abstract

The research dealt with the topics of the political journalistic article in the Iraqi press...An analytical study in the articles of Al-Sabah newspaper. This research is considered one of the descriptive research that aims to analyze and evaluate the current facts related to the nature of the phenomenon, which is mostly specific, with the aim of obtaining sufficient and accurate information. The research was adopted Based on the analytical survey method, which is considered a vital method adopted by most human research, the researcher resorted to designing a content analysis form that contains main units and subcategories, prepared in a specific order that suits the subject of the research as a tool for collecting data. The importance of the research came from the importance of the newspaper article in creating public opinion. Political, and because the tense political situation in Iraq and the lack of formation of a government after the elections and the occurrence of political demonstrations, the research aims to identify the contents that the newspaper articles in Al-Sabah newspaper focused on regarding the political process. The researcher reached a number of results in the analytical aspect, the most important of which are: - Category The first main category: The focus of the newspaper article on highlighting the facts in the political process to the public. It ranked first with a frequency of (2504) with a percentage of (19.6%). This is the main political category that highlighted the political facts to the public opinion and explained and clarified political issues and events, to enhance the political process and interest. Al-Sabah newspaper on the political side, as it is a government newspaper among its priorities.

The second main category: Emphasizing the positive relationship between national unity and public opinion, ranked second with a frequency of (2171) with a percentage of (17%). This main category is also political, emphasizing the effectiveness of public opinion in the political process, and directing public opinion towards national unity. The newspaper's interest in political groups is among its priorities, as the political groups ranked first and second, apparently because their priorities are political.
