Speech disorders in students with learning disabilities

Abstract

The current research is the first research in Iraq (as far as the researcher knows) dealing with speech disorders among students with learning difficulties. And directing attention to the category of learning difficulties in terms of helping to develop solutions that lead to reducing the problems they face. We hope that this research will open new horizons for researchers to conduct more studies and scientific research to supplement this aspect in order to serve this segment of students with learning difficulties and achieve the desired goal.The aim of the current research is to identify:1- Speech disorders among students with learning difficulties.2- There are statistically significant differences among students with learning difficulties according to the gender variable (males - females) on the speech disorders scale.In order to achieve the objectives of the current research, the researcher has adopted the speech disorders scale prepared by Subh (2014), which consists of (32) items. After verifying the psychometric properties of the research scale and its paragraphs, it was applied to the basic research sample of (200) male and female students with learning difficulties in the Babylon Governorate Center for the academic year (2021-2022), they were selected in a random manner with a proportional distribution. The selection of the sample in this way makes it more representative of the original research community, and after analyzing the data statistically using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS), the results resulted in the following:1- Students with learning difficulties have speech disorders2- There are statistically significant differences in speech disorders among students with learning difficulties and in favor of males
