Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of digital radio in supporting and developing news content in the digital age by analyzing the current state of radio broadcasting through digital platforms and assessing its impact on news quality and audience engagement. The research adopted a descriptive-analytical approach, based on a questionnaire distributed to 150 participants, including listeners and media professionals, in addition to semi-structured interviews with a sample of staff working in news departments. The results indicated that digital radio is characterized by rapid news dissemination and the ability to reach a wide audience without geographical limitations. Integration with social media further enhances news distribution and increases engagement rates. However, the findings also revealed several challenges, most notably balancing speed of publication with credibility, and a lack of technical training among some media personnel. The study also found that news quality is positively correlated with the level of audience interaction, highlighting the importance of investing in improving editorial and technical standards. The research concluded with a set of recommendations, including strengthening news verification policies, developing specialized training programs for staff, adopting innovative approaches to news storytelling, and investing in the technical infrastructure of digital radio.
