Abstract

This research, titled "The Wisdom and Trial of Wealth in the Holy Quran," examines the concept of material wealth and its Quranic connotations. It explores the impact of wealth on the behavior of both believers and disbelievers, clarifying that material wealth is not measured merely by the amount of money or blessings one possesses; rather, it is evaluated based on how it is utilized for the sake of God and for the benefit and well-being of others.

The study analyzes various forms of wealth—including wealth derived from money, food and drink, and dominion and authority—and elucidates the divine wisdom behind prioritizing one form over another.

Furthermore, the research reviews the implications of wealth for believers, such as the multiplication of rewards, the attainment of divine forgiveness, and its connection to justice and equality within society. It also examines the effects of material wealth on disbelievers, noting how it can transform into a trial (*fitna*) that drives the possessor toward arrogance, tyranny, and injustice—as illustrated by the stories of Pharaoh and Korah.

The research concludes that material wealth carries significant educational and ethical dimensions. It serves as a vehicle for goodness and righteousness when directed properly and used correctly. Conversely, it becomes a trial and a test when squandered or used for illicit purposes. The Holy Quran provides guidance on how to utilize wealth in a manner that pleases God and benefits both the individual and society, thereby fostering spiritual and social stability.
