Abstract

Abstract :In the context of literary studies, a motive is that drive or impulse that creates in the creator the need to produce a certain text or to direct it toward a specific discourse. Essentially, it consists of a set of causes and factors that explain this phenomenon and its development. The intersection between politics and religion serves to clarify the nature of the influential factors that prompted the renowned poets to turn toward the religious Muwashshah. Hence, the political motive manifested itself in the religious Muwashshah, as one of the main impulses that contributed to directing poetic discourse toward employing various religious themes, especially in Andalusia during the late periods of the Almohads and the Nasrids, which were marked by political deterioration, multiple centers of power, numerous revolts, wars, turmoil, and the fall of Andalusian cities. The religious Muwashshah thus acted as a reaction to this political instability. This study examines one of the most important motives for the religious Muwashshahthe political motive through analysis and study, and includes poetic examples from various religious Muwashshahs with a political motive .
