The Prophet's (peace and blessings of God be upon him and his family) dialogue with the Jews: an analytical study of issues of faith

Abstract

This research deals with an analytical study of the dialogues of the Prophet (peace and blessings of God be upon him and his family) with the Jews, in three main axes: the axis of the Oneness of the Creator, where the Prophet (peace and blessings of God be upon him and his family) confronted their doubts about the attributes of God and His transcendence; the axis of prophecy, where he clarified the concept of prophecy and the truth of his message in light of the glad tidings found in their books; and the axis of the spirit He explained to them its reality and status as being from the command of God. The research relied on analyzing the texts contained in the Holy Qur’an and the Sunnah of the Prophet, and linking them to the historical and cultural context of that period. The study showed that the Prophet’s (may God bless him and his family and grant them peace) style of dialogue combined rational argument and legal text, which reflects an integrated approach to advocacy and dialogue between religions The research also shows that these dialogues represent an important reference for understanding the foundations of contemporary Islamic dialogue with the People of the Book.
