Dihya bin Musab AL-Umawi between rebellion and political ambition in the Abbasid era

Abstract

         Dahya bin Misab AL-Umawi is considered one of the remnants of the Umayyad princes in Egypt specifically in the Upper Egyptian regions where he decided to stay away from the Abbasid government and its influence so he moved away to the distant agricultural areas to disappear from the eyes of the Abbasid state  because the Abbasid state was pursuing the Umayyad princes in all parts  of the Islamic state and he had apolitical ambition to return to rule and revive the Umayyad Caliphate so he gathered his supporters and influence and Dahya benefited greatly from the policy of the harshness of governors  the Abbasids in Egypt Were collecting taxes and tribute because they despised the people and tortured them with various types of tortute and this is what made the people hate them and resent the Abbasid Caliphate so Dihya gathered the people who were resentful of the policy of the governors in Egypt and formed an army and claimed for himself the Caliphate and prevented the Abbasid governors from collecting taxes in Upper Egypt and declared his rebellion against the Abbasid Caliphate and wos able to control all the lands in Upper Egypt dyring the days of the
