Abstract
Over the past few years, short-form videos (Reels) have become one of the most significant methods of content distribution across digital platforms. Due to their brief duration, rapid delivery of information, and strong impact on viewers, Reels have secured a prominent position in modern digital media. In the Kurdistan Region, many media organizations have increasingly relied on Reels to expand their audience, particularly among younger generations, and to enhance the effectiveness of their digital communication strategies.
964 Kurdi is one of the leading examples of Kurdish digital media that has successfully utilized short-form videos. Through Reels, the platform presents news, major events, interviews, public information, and social issues in a fast, engaging, and visually appealing format. Furthermore, by integrating text, images, music, and graphic elements into its videos, 964 Kurdi increases viewers’ attention, encourages content sharing, and enhances audience engagement.
In general, Reels in Kurdish digital media are not merely a tool for disseminating news; they also play a vital role in strengthening the relationship between media organizations and their audiences. The experience of 964 Kurdi demonstrates that the effective use of short-form videos can significantly improve reach, increase engagement, and enhance the visibility and influence of digital media content across social media platforms.
