Abstract

Research Abstract: This research examines the role of Palestinian civil society organizations in protecting women's rights within a highly complex political and social context shaped by the repercussions of the occupation, internal division, and cultural and social constraints. The research is based on the premise that these organizations are among the most important actors in defending Palestinian women's rights through the legal, psychological, and social services they provide, their awareness-raising and advocacy efforts, and their attempts to influence public policies related to women. The research also highlights the most significant obstacles that limit the effectiveness of these organizations, primarily insufficient funding, declining independence, and intensifying political and social restrictions, in addition to the challenges imposed by the occupation environment. This research employs a descriptive-analytical approach, drawing on relevant sources and references, to assess the nature of this role and its impact on empowering Palestinian women and protecting their rights. The research concludes that Palestinian civil society organizations, despite the challenges they face, remain a fundamental pillar in defending women's rights and enhancing their presence in both the public and private spheres. However, greater support is needed to ensure the sustainability of their efforts and expand their impact. The research adopted the descriptive-analytical approach as the most suitable methodology for studying the role of Palestinian civil society organizations in protecting women's rights. This approach allows for the description of the phenomenon under study, the analysis of its various dimensions, and the exploration of the relationship between the activities of these organizations and the reality of Palestinian women's rights.

Accordingly, this research aims to provide a comprehensive analytical overview that contributes to understanding the work of Palestinian civil society organizations and their role in supporting women's issues. Ultimately, it seeks to draw scientific conclusions and practical recommendations that can contribute to strengthening and developing this role.
