Abstract

The aim of the research is to identify:

1)The level of holistic thinking among students, College of Basic Education, Department of General Sciences.

2)The level of holistic thinking among students in the College of Basic Education, Department of General Sciences, according to the gender variable (males and females).

   The current research is limited to students in the Department of Mathematics, specifically for the academic year (2024 - 2025), and the researcher adopted a descriptive research methodology. The sample of the research consisted of (60) students, with (30) male students and (30) female students. The researcher prepared a tool for holistic thinking consisting of (25) items, and the psychometric and statistical properties of holistic thinking were verified. The reliability coefficient for holistic thinking was calculated using the Kuder-Richardson method - 20. The research tool was applied in the academic year (2024 - 2025), and the data were analyzed using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS-26). The following results were reached:

• Students in the Department of Mathematics have holistic thinking.

• There is a difference in holistic thinking between males and females in favor of males.
