Abstract

The current research aimed to identify:

1.The Meaning Maintenance Mode  for educational counselors.

2.emotional Coping for educational counselors.

3.The correlational relationship between  The Meaning Maintenance Mode  and emotional Coping for educational counselors.

4.Statistical differences in the correlational relationship between The Meaning Maintenance Mode and emotional Coping for educational counselors gender (male, female) , Length of service (11 years and above - 10 years and less).

       To achieve these objectives , a sample of educational counselors in the General Directorate of Education in Babylon was selected, with their number reaching (400) for the academic year (2024-2025). chosen by stratified random sampling. After The Meaning Maintenance Mode scale prepared by Heine et al. (2006) was translated and approved, which consists of (30) paragraphs, the emotional Coping scale was also prepared by Lazarus and Folkman (1984), which consists of (24) paragraphs. After extracting their psychometric properties including validity and reliability, both instruments were applied to the research sample. It was found that they possessed the ability to The Meaning Maintenance Mode, and the results showed a positive direct correlation between the two variables. The results also showed that there were no differences in the correlation between the ability to The Meaning Maintenance Mode  and emotional coping according to the gender variable (males - females). The correlation coefficient between the two variables was stronger for those who had served for 11 years or more than for those who had served for 10 years or less. Based on these results, the researcher reached a set of conclusions, recommendations, and suggestions.
