The role of the educational guide and his role in the studying exam anxiety among third year middle school students

Abstract

Abstract; The current research aims to know the level of anxiety among third intermediate school students. To identify the significance of differences in measuring the level of anxiety according to the gender variable (males-females). The research identifies middle and secondary school students, which also includes the middle stage of Ramadi district for the academic year 2024-2025. The research sample consisted of 250 male and female students who were randomly selected and distributed over several schools in the center of Ramadi district, about 8 middle and secondary schools. The questionnaire was used as a tool to achieve the research objectives. The tool was presented to a group of experts and specialists. Consistency was extracted by retesting the same sample. The scale consisting of 26 paragraphs was applied, and the answer was a four-point scale (does not apply to me, does not apply to me very much, applies to me, sometimes). The results showed that there are no significant differences according to the gender variable (males-females). Providing a set of recommendations and suggestions to give the topic of anxiety greater importance and emphasize the role of the educational counselor  .

Official ministerial and administrative letters emphasize the issue of anxiety, stressing its importance as a factor that causes students to decline in academic performance. They emphasize the role of the educational counselor, in cooperation with the school administration, in providing support and attention to reduce stress and anxiety, and the important role of the counselor in enhancing confidence and his effective responsibility.
