The Artistic Features in the Poetry of Jaber Qamihah : An Analytical Study

Abstract

This study aims to examine the artistic features in the poetry of Jaber Qamihah by analyzing his poetic language, rhetorical imagery, musical rhythm, and artistic structures. The study focuses on the eloquence and simplicity of his expression, emphasizing his use of metaphors, similes, and symbolism. Additionally, it explores the musical rhythm in his poetry by analyzing meter, rhyme, and phonetic techniques, alongside examining antithesis, parallelism, and repetition as fundamental elements of his rhetorical composition. The findings reveal that Jaber Qamihah successfully achieved a delicate balance between clarity and rhetorical richness, making his poetry accessible to a wide audience. His poetic imagery is characterized by creativity, as his use of metaphors, similes, and symbolism adds profound aesthetic and semantic dimensions to his texts, allowing him to express national and humanistic themes with a distinctive artistic vision. Rhythmically, he excelled in utilizing meter and rhyme while employing repetition and alliteration to create an internal musicality that enhances the artistic impact of his poems. Furthermore, the study highlights his innovative approach to poetic structure, as he managed to integrate tradition with modernity, resulting in cohesive and structurally harmonious poems. The research also confirms the presence of organic unity in his works, where his poems exhibit coherence in both ideas and imagery, granting them a clear structural integrity. Additionally, Qamihah demonstrated remarkable skill in intertextuality by drawing from Arab and Islamic literary heritage to enrich his poetry with cultural depth and interwoven meanings. Based on these findings, it is evident that Jaber Qamihah was not merely a traditional poet but a visionary artist who successfully blended diverse artistic techniques, thereby solidifying his position in contemporary Arabic poetry.
