This research deals with the investigation of Abu Hafs Al-Fasi (d. 1188 AH) on the attribution of grammatical opinions mentioned in the book Mughni Al-Labib in his commentary entitled (Bughyat Al-Areeb fi Tawshih Masa'il Mughni Al-Labib), and also deals with his position on some issues of grammatical disagreement represented in the preferences and responses and the statement of the grammatical doctrine in this commentary. The research aims to show the scientific personality of Sheikh Abu Hafs Al-Fasi and to clarify his position in verifying the attribution of opinions and reviewing them in their sources before confirming or denying their attribution, in addition to clarifying his scientific position represented in the preferences and responses and clarifying his inclination in his own grammatical opinions towards the verified grammarians as he called them. The research relied on the descriptive approach in studying the topics, and we presented the author’s texts that highlight the research objectives in stating his position to reach a result indicating that this author is one of the most reliable and accomplished scholars of the Arab Maghreb in the field of Arabic grammar.
The sheikh took great care to document the texts and indicate their locations in the sources from which he quoted. The research revealed that despite the sheikh's objections to and rebuttals to many scholars' opinions, he maintained a high degree of politeness and humility.
