Abstract

        The research aims to demonstrate the status of Ibn al-Sa’i and his ability to document events. Ibn al-Sa’i is one of the prominent historians, known for his love of knowledge and scholars. He was well-versed in Arabic sciences and was famous for his ability to document events and personalities. He gained a prestigious position among the Abbasid Caliphs, which made him superior to others during the period in which he lived.        Research into the history of biographies has received great attention from Arab scholars, especially since this science originated and grew alongside the science of Hadith, and followed in its footsteps. It was truly a true Arab science, given its importance in knowing the conditions of the person being translated, and what skills, works and positions he possesses, and researching his personal biography. Therefore, the works on biographies varied, including biographies of men of Hadith, biographies of jurists, judges and caliphs, and other prominent biographies. The efforts of scholars are prominent in documenting events, writing books and diversifying them, so they took care of them, as they were concerned with mentioning names and nicknames.

       Their lineage, dates, places of birth and death, and many of their conditions and moral characteristics were mentioned. The research relied on the descriptive historical approach, as it followed the life of Ibn al-Sa’i and his scientific status. The research consisted of an introduction and two chapters. The first chapter studied the life of Ibn al-Sa’i, and the second chapter contained Ibn al-Sa’i’s scientific status.Scientific.
