Self-application of Quranic verses in the behavior of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) A study of the fundamentalist methodology and educational impact

Abstract

The Holy Qur'an is considered the primary source of Islamic legislation and the divine approach that guides to the straight path. The Islamic school, with its various trends, has focused on interpreting the Qur'an and applying it to practical life. Among these schools, the Ahl al-Bayt(peace be upon them) school stands out as a unique approach that combines a deep understanding of the Qur'anic texts with their practical application in various aspects of life. The Ahl al-Bayt(peace be upon them) were role models in embodying the Qur'an in their behavior, words, and actions, making them a fundamental reference for understanding and applying Islam.

This research aims to study the Ahl al-Bayt's(peace be upon them) approach to applying Qur'anic verses to themselves, whether those related to practical and ethical aspects, or verses with a fundamentalist structure that form the basis for understanding Islamic doctrine and law. By analyzing this approach, it is possible to reveal how the Ahl al-Bayt(peace be upon them) drew inspiration from the Holy Qur'an in their daily lives and how they dealt with verses that carry fundamentalist and doctrinal dimensions. The fundamentalist approach they adopted in applying Quranic texts relied on understanding the context, verbal and rational evidence, and the general objectives of Islamic law, demonstrating their possession of the tools of ijtihad and advanced contemplation.
