Abstract

Drug crimes are serious crimes that have a significant negative impact on society. It is noticeable that this type of crime has become widespread recently, and these crimes have become a major threat to many groups in society, especially the youth. It is certain that combating this type of crime falls primarily on the responsibility of state institutions, and the most important of these institutions is the public administration, as it is concerned with maintaining security in society, establishing public morals, and not violating that under all circumstances.

The public administration has the means and methods to combat drug crimes, limit their spread, and reduce their negative effects. These means include general control, physical work, legal work, public facilities, and others.

The research into the role played by the administration in combating drugs is of great importance, which is evident in the necessity of addressing the subject seriously, especially since it relates to the security and safety of human society in general. The subject has been researched through analysis and comparison between a number of national legislations, including Iraqi legislation.

This research entitled (The role of the administration in combating drug crimes) came to clarify the concept of administration and how it combats drugs. This was through two requirements. The first requirement came under the title, defining administration, in which we discussed some concepts related to administration. As for the second requirement, it dealt with the methods of administration in combating drug crimes. In conclusion, the research concluded with some important results and proposals.
