The optimal cartographic representation of fish farms in Erbil Governorate

The map is one of the most successful and effective means in representing geographical phenomena, whether natural or human, and the first requirement for the geographer to help him express the environment and help him understand its capabilities and realize the problems of its distribution. The success of geographical studies depends when they are supported by maps and graphs prepared on correct cartographic, scientific, mathematical and technical foundations, especially when contemporary technologies are used in them (GIS and remote sensing RS). From this point of view, the data of fish farms in the study area were presented in an ideal cartographic representation to serve the study and the governorate of Erbil..
The research dealt with cartographic methods to represent the data of fish farms in Erbil Governorate as one of the administrative units in the Kurdistan Region. The study revealed that James Flannery's method (Relative Circles) is one of the best and most successful ways to represent it. Depending on the cartographic methods, maps of different distributions of fish farms in the study area were prepared. The research aims to achieve a set of objectives, the most important of which are: Determining the best cartographic methods to represent the data of fish farms in the study area, in addition to creating a digital database for part of the agricultural production (animal) which is an important economic activity in addition to being a source of food sources (White meat) for residents, The methodology approach was applied to represent the search maps, and the research reached a set of conclusions, the most important of which are: There are a set of ways to represent various geographical phenomena, but among them there is the most successful method for cartographic representation on the cartography, identifying it and applying it in order to obtain the best maps of distributions (smart maps). It is easy to deal with, read, perceive and analyze easily.
