Abstract

Ayat al-Kursi is considered to be one of the most important verses of the Holy Qur'an due to its virtues according to authentic hadiths and the divine secrets in the proofs it carries regarding Allah's Ism al-'Azam and His uniqueness. For this reason، scholars have written treatises and independent works about it. One of them is the manuscript of Ahmad b. Muhammad al-Rūmī al-Hamāwī's "al-Fath al-Qudsī"، which contains important quotations، traditional and rational inferences، and explanatory contributions.

The aim of this study is to raise awareness about the Islamic heritage that has reached us from the past but has not been informed about its value، to show how great value and importance these treasures of knowledge of past generations have، and to be of assistance in understanding their works and appreciating their efforts.

The author followed several approaches in interpretation, combining interpretation by narration and interpretation by knowledge in order to reach his previous goal of drawing attention to the perfection of the divine existence, its beauty and majesty, which was manifested in the Throne Verse, including its divine signs and mystical evidence. The author relied in transmitting the news and traces on sources that are broad in time and place, between the East and West of the Islamic world, in different centuries, and some of them are missing in our time, which increases the scientific value of the book. The book is also distinguished by the discussion of the opinions of the Rumi al-Hamawi author of the opinions of scholars with preference between them, although he sometimes does not comment on the weak chains of transmission and fabricated hadiths that he narrates in the properties and virtues of the noble verse. This objection does not diminish his efforts in gathering many news, terms, sciences and opinions for the purpose intended by the author, which is to interpret the verse from all its aspects, topics and meanings.
