Abstract

     The current research exploring the literary elements used in the novel of Jonathan Swift's Gulliver's Travels, it represented classical satirical work critiquing nature of  human, the society, and the  politics via the imaginary voyages lens. The main elements like  theme, characterization ,setting, allegory and  satire, are inspected for understanding the way they are  contributing to the novel’s continuing relevance besides the complexity. Human irrationality Themes, corruption, also reason limitations are contrasted against richly imagined settings such as Brobdingnag, Lilliput, and Houyhnhnms land. Swift’s using characterization, mainly via the protagonist, Lemuel Gulliver, evolving to mirror disappointment with humanity.

     The satirical techniques, included exaggeration, irony, besides parody, are separated to disclose the author’s perceptive commentary on 18th-century societal customs in addition to institutions. The interaction between setting besides theme boosts the reader’s considerate of the irrationality and two-facedness Swift are seeking to picture. Moreover, Swift’s use of allegory allowing for multiple explanations, making the novel equally interesting to casual readers besides scholars. Via inspecting these elements, this analysis highlights the way Gulliver's Travels exceeds its time for  remaining a universal human tendencies besides societal concepts influential critique.

      The novel structure is  divided into four voyages, supports the thematic development from naive optimism in Lilliput to unpleasant cynicism in the Houyhnhnms land.

     The novel  shows the way  of transcending its historical context for  remaining a timeless human behavior critique besides societal constructs. It highlighting the complicated artistry behind Swift’s narrative also sustains the novel's place as a basis of satirical literature.
