This research addresses two Quranic verses that mention horses, analyzing them through an interpretive and analytical approach. The study includes an examination of specific words within the verses, the contextual connection between each verse and what precedes and follows it, as well as an explanation of the overall meaning. Furthermore, rhetorical and grammatical aspects are discussed, along with the different Quranic readings and the lessons and values derived from the verses.
The study highlights the esteemed status of horses in Islamic law and Arab culture, as they hold a significant position. The Quran honors horses, and Allah swears by them in Surah Al-‘Adiyat—an indication of the nobility and elevated status of what is sworn by.
Horses are mentioned in both of the studied verses. In Surah Aal Imran, they are listed among the worldly pleasures and adornments, while in Surah Al-Anfal, they appear as instruments used in the cause of Allah and in defense of the faith. This reflects the Quran's comprehensive perspective on horses, acknowledging their worldly value and their role in noble causes.
