This study deals with Chile since its discovery by Spanish explorers in 1536, led by Pedro de Valdivia, and thus Chile became part of the Spanish Empire, and was administered by the Spanish Viceroy, and it succeeded in doing so through its administration of those countries, including Chile, and sending missionary missions and geographical explorers, whose appearance was exploration, but whose essence was colonization and plundering of the countries' goods and wealth, and imposing Spanish laws and instructions on the Chilean people and entering into competition with other European countries in order to impose its control and influence in those countries, but the local population in the country was able, after several revolutions and uprisings, to obtain independence in 1818 under the leadership of Carrera and O'Higgins. It succeeded in doing so through its management of those countries, including Chile, and sending missionary missions and geographical explorers whose appearance was exploration, but whose essence was colonization and plundering of the countries’ resources and wealth, imposing Spanish laws and instructions on the Chilean people, and entering into competition with other European countries in order to impose its control and influence in those countries, which generated resistance from the local population in order to be freed from Spanish colonialism.References
