Abstract

During the Seljuk period, Iraq and its cities, especially Baghdad, witnessed the emergence of a large group of writers, poets and linguists who left behind a literary heritage that contributed to the prosperity of these sciences. These studies became active, especially since the Abbasid caliphs and Seljuk princes were interested in this field. This interest resulted in a literary movement led by the famous people of that era. They wrote many works on grammar, language, literature and poetry.

These people enriched intellectual life in general with their great works. Anyone who carefully studies the literary sources that were compiled during the Seljuk rule in Iraq will be amazed by the vastness of the scientific and intellectual production, which had a positive impact on the cultural and literary situation despite the turbulent political situation

The society was living at that time, but the literary aspects, especially literature, poetry and language, had a direct impact on public life, especially since society accepted those literary aspects, which are an extension of previous eras. This shows us the harmony of the literary aspects with the general ideas of society.
