Abstract

The competition between the United States of America and China has been increasingly intensifying in the realm of international relations, manifesting in strategic rivalries and tangible political, military, and economic dynamics. Accordingly, this study examines the growing competition between the U.S. and China in the field of technology systems and artificial intelligence (AI).

The competition is particularly evident as China moves swiftly to integrate AI technologies into its strategic sectors, while the United States is acutely aware of the implications of Beijing's advancement in AI, especially for military purposes. Therefore, this study focuses on China's AI strategy in relation to the United States, exploring the types and domains of artificial intelligence and their strategic applications.

The research also addresses critical AI-related challenges, such as the “combinatorial explosion” problem, which refers to the vast number of possibilities that must be considered, so large that it becomes nearly impossible to reach an optimal solution through direct search methods.

Finally, the study highlights the future of this strategic competition, considering potential opportunities, challenges, and implications that may arise.

China’s strategy for artificial intelligence towards the United States of America, as revealed through our study, is not just a technological race, but a struggle for influence and dominance over the shape of the global future, but through artificial intelligence. It seems from what has been presented previously that the world is heading towards a technological divide between the United States of America and China. Artificial intelligence will play a decisive role in tipping the scales in favor of one of these countries, meaning it will be a bipolar technological world.
