Abstract

Sports contracts are subject to regulations issued by the relevant sports federations, which set out the terms of the contract from the moment it is concluded until its expiry. These federations establish basic rules within the framework of special regulations governing all types of professional sports contracts. This is done by national federations within the limits of the rules of the International Federation for the regulation of the detailed provisions of these contracts, including the 2015 Regulations for Working with Iraqi Intermediaries.

In addition, these federations develop contract templates that serve as the basis for professional sports contracts (professionalism, loan, transfer, sports training), which require clubs, athletes (players or coaches) and sports intermediaries to respect and follow these contracts when conducting legal transactions in the field of sports contracts. Sports intermediaries play an important role through their knowledge of the sports field, The work of the agent and what he does in the service of his client is closely linked to the importance of the role that the sports agent (representative) plays for his client in negotiations and the conclusion of sports contracts. Given the crucial role of the sports intermediary (agent) for those who appoint them in negotiations and the conclusion of sports contracts, it was essential to highlight this role by examining the significance of sports intermediary contracts and the work of the sports intermediary. This research is divided into two sections: the first focuses on the importance of sports intermediary, while the second outlines the services provided by the sports intermediary.
