The Kurds, history, politics, civilization (Ibn Qadi Shahba).Abstract
, There are different opinions among scholars about the importance of researching Kurdish history in the book "Tarikh Ibn Qazi Shahbah". Kurdish politics and civilization are not an independent entity. Therefore, scholars have relied on the interpretation of the primary sources related to Kurdish personalities that Ibn Qadi Shahbah recorded in his history in the list of the dead, which included the years (741-808 AH/1341-1406 AD). namely the Kurds. Through his research, he found no comprehensive texts in Ibn Qadi Shahba's history about the Kurds as an independent entity, despite the fact that the geographical areas Ibn Qadi Shahba covered were densely populated by Kurds two centuries before his time. Therefore, the researcher relied on texts included in his history about some Kurdish figures listed in the death records at the end of each year of his annual chronicle. These figures played a political, economic, social, religious, cultural, and architectural role during that period (741-808 AH / 1341-1406 CE), although the information Ibn Qadi Shahba included was not of great importance. The historical account of the Kurds as an independent political and cultural entity does mention some Kurdish figures and their political, cultural, and religious roles, through which we can understand the role of the Kurds during that era.
