Abstract

In general, the novel describes the human condition and indicates the situation under which human societies exist. With the help of artistic representation, the novelist shows everything about life its virtues and vices, its pleasures and its pain. Simultaneously, the novelist draws on real events and lived experiences and turns them into a logical story and delivers them in the novel in an unconvoluted and efficient literary language, which unveils pressure and realities of the characters in the novel. Mehmed Uzun reflects this role in Tu when he uses the life experience of the author, in particular, the persecution of Kurds by the Turkish state, as the formers of his linguistic and cultural identity. The autobiographical moments are mixed with the fiction in the novel, and individual suffering is shown as the part of the collective struggle and the narrative technique is used to show the pressures which characterize the lives of the characters. In this paper, the thematic structure of Tu is closely associated with the personal experience of Uzun. It is split into two parts first describing the theoretical background of biography and autobiographical forms in literature and the second part of the research is a biography of Uzun, a brief description of the novel, a discussion of narratives techniques and a comparison between what is written in the novel and Uzun in real-life experiences. The research contains introduction, bibliography, and summaries in the Kurdish, Arabic, and English languages.
